Mesh is technology-agnostic — fluent across virtual production, real-time ray tracing, motion grading, and whatever comes next. From supervising The Mandalorian to advising on Chaos Arena's product roadmap, this is a practice built at the frontier.
Lucasfilm · Post Production Supervisor · 2019–2020
The Mandalorian redefined what was possible in episodic television production. As Post Production Supervisor, the role demanded fluency in every dimension of a production that was simultaneously a creative milestone and a technical experiment on an unprecedented scale.
Working within the Lucasfilm ecosystem, the position required bridging the gap between ILM's StageCraft LED volume technology — then new to the industry — and the practical realities of budget, schedule, and post workflow. Pre-Vis and virtual scouting had to integrate seamlessly into live production. Virtual Production Quality oversight ensured that what was captured on stage would hold up through the full post pipeline.
The Mandalorian's success — both commercially and as an industry template — proved the viability of LED volume virtual production at scale. The lessons from that production now inform everything Mesh brings to virtual production consulting.
The virtual production techniques pioneered on The Mandalorian — LED volumes replacing location shoots and traditional blue/green screen — are now being adopted across the industry. First-hand experience operating at the origin point of this shift is a foundational part of Mesh's virtual production advisory practice.
Virtual production expertise grounded in having actually supervised it — on one of the most complex productions in television history.
Direct experience with ILM StageCraft LED volume workflows — from Pre-Vis through on-set execution and post integration. Understanding the real constraints that don't appear in vendor pitch decks.
Integrating virtual scouting and Pre-Vis into live production pipelines. Managing the handoff between virtual environments and physical production decisions at the department head level.
For productions evaluating virtual production approaches — LED volume, extended reality, hybrid approaches — Mesh provides independent assessment free of vendor relationships.
Chaos Arena is a groundbreaking real-time path-tracing solution for in-camera VFX — delivering cinema-quality ray-traced visuals directly to LED walls without preprocessing. Mesh is one of the first practices in the industry to validate and deploy this technology on real productions.
As a product roadmap advisor to Chaos, Mesh brings the production floor perspective that shapes how Arena evolves — bridging the gap between what the technology can do and what productions actually need.
